Tamis is a long-time supplier of crowd control barricades and stanchions to the Super Bowl.  At this year’s event, visitors and television viewers will see numerous Tamis products being employed.  More than 3,000 steel barriers, rented from Ally Rental, will help manage crowds in and around the stadium and at numerous public and private events associated with the Super Bowl, such as the “NFL Experience” fan event. 

Additionally, more than 300 portable retractable belt stanchions will be used to create visible and efficient waiting lines on the grounds.  More than 300 feet of temporary fencing panels purchased from Tamis will also create visible perimeters at various locations.

A number of the crowd control barricades will feature barrier jackets produced by Tamis.  Visitors will see these “ground level billboards” on barrier jackets or table covers featuring the logos of Castrol, M&M’s, Snickers, and Xbox Kinect.

Blockader crowd control barricades will also be featured in a new Samsung commercial airing during the Super Bowl.

Tamis rented crowd control barricades and line management stanchions to approximately 200 Target stores in 29 states in advance of Black Friday sales events.  Approximately 10,000 barriers were supplied to Target stores for use in parking areas and in front of stores to manage long lines of customers waiting to enter the store.

Additionally, approximately 2,800 stanchions (with retractable belts) were rented by various Target stores to create orderly lines within the stores.

Approximately 200 additional Target stores received supplies of barricades and stanchions from Ally’s network of Rental Associates.

Ally Rental also supplied products used for Black Friday security and line management at a number of shopping malls (including some managed by the Simon Property Group) and select Macy’s stores.

Tamis Barriers at Boxing Hall of Fame Event Featuring Sylvester Stallone, Mike Tyson

The Tamis Corporation supplied 43 interlocking steel barricades, accessorized with custom-fit barrier jackets, to the International Boxing Hall of Fame in Canastota, New York for the Hall’s 2011 Induction Weekend Celebration, June 9-12.  The event was highlighted by the June 12 ceremony in which boxing greats including Mike Tyson and Julio Cesar Chavez, as well as actor/screenwriter Sylvester Stallone were inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Barriers created a space between the bandstand stage and the audience during the ceremony.  They were also used along the sidewalks outside the Hall to provide a space for the celebrities to enter the building and sign autographs and chat with fans.

For previous induction ceremonies, the Hall had used posts and rope, but barriers were needed this year because of the larger crowds drawn by the celebrity of this year’s inductees.

Tamis supplies crowd control barricades for other summer events nationwide

Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey rented 170 Blockader barriers for the first-ever concert held at the venue on June 18.  The arena, home of the New York Red Bulls Major League Soccer team, used the barricades to create “no access” zones around certain areas of the field during the concert featuring the band Dispatch.

The production of the forthcoming 2012 movie Men in Black III utilized 50 crowd control barricades from Tamis for a shoot in New York City in July.

Sea World in San Diego rented over 200 crowd control barricades, as well as gates and arches, from Tamis for use at the facility.

The Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival, held May 7-8, West Friendship, Maryland, employed steel barriers rented from Tamis for the popular annual event sponsored by the Maryland Sheep Breeders Association.

Plastic Jersey Barriers protect Tucson’s Tallest Tree

Ten Plastic Jersey Barriers, rented from the Tamis Corporation, are protecting the tallest tree in Tucson, Arizona, during a nearby construction project.
The barriers were rented by W.E. O’Neil Construction, which is beginning work on a new Senior Care Center which will feature 140 housing units at a location on West Congress Street in Tucson.
In order to protect the famous tree, which was planted in 1910 is now estimated to be 110-120 feet high, Plastic Jersey barriers provide a no-access zone encompassing a 50-foot radius around the tree.  The intent is to keep personnel, forklifts, backhoes and other construction equipment at a safe distance from the tree during this project.
